Hi, I'm Sabrina

I love pizza, sushi, and cinnamon buns – everything goes at the same time! My coffee needs to be lukewarm otherwise, I burn my tongue. My perfect day? Spending time with friends, cuddling animals, and spontaneously trying new things.

Tom about Sabrina

Sabrina is spontaneous and often death-defying – more than once, I had half a heart attack because of her. She is a creative bon vivant with a huge heart, and she loves animals, which she has to pet ALL the time.

Hi, I'm Tom

I love making culinary discoveries, so I need to try the cuisines and bars in each new country. Spending my time with lovely people while having a barbecue and talking about everything or listening to their life stories is one of my favorite things.

Tom about Sabrina

Tom is always happy, except when his favorite soccer club loses the CL, I spontaneously change all our plans, or he didn't sleep enough. He is a super open-minded person and loves to talk to everyone – about anything.

  • Fun Fact: Since we started traveling, a cap, black shirt, his gimbal, and drone are his daily outfit.

Why We Travel

Munich, at the end of 2017, we'd had one to four mulled wines and at least two eggnogs. Sabrina: “How cool would it be if we pack our bags and just travel around the world? Or open an alpaca farm? Or buy a food truck? Just be crazy!”

Well, we still don't own an alpaca farm and no food truck, but since March '18, we travel around the world! We conquer mountains, relax on beaches, enjoy big cities, love the island life, and see phenomenal sunsets and fascinating sunrises on volcanoes. We meet loving, helpful, and funny people all over the world

How We Travel

Sometimes faster, sometimes slower. Always following the nose, only with hand luggage, completely individual and through the whole country. We want to experience the culture, the people, and the nature of each country. Actually, we are night owls, but we can be really early birds when adventures are in store.

We walk all the time, and drifting haphazardly through cities is pure freedom for us. What also makes us happy? Food! We love every local cuisine, and let's face it, you get to know the soul and history of a nation through its food and national sports.

Whether it's hostels, hotels, or whole houses – the important thing for us when it comes to accommodation is the vibe and cleanliness, and that's not decided by the price. Wait, there is something important: two blankets! Yes, we really want two. That's why we often book single beds and push them together.

We read and research about our next destination, because we want to see a lot and also find out hidden gems. Because of all our experiences and research, Discovernauts was born.
