What to Expect

While strolling through Havana's beautiful Old Town and Calle Obispo, you'll learn all about Cuba's culinary history. You'll get to know the chefs and their life stories. Although the real highlight of the tour is the food, their anecdotes are the perfect extra.

You'll get to sample some of Cuba's most popular snacks. From churros to savory crêpes filled with fish to congrejitos – fried dough shaped like crab legs and filled with guava. Pizza with Cuban cheese and not to forget Papa Rellena, which are stuffed and fried potato balls.

You will learn all about Cuban fruits like mamey and guanabana. You'll also learn a lot about the changes in recent years and how Cubans deal with the ever-changing availability of goods. If you are lucky, you will also be able to try frituras de maiz (fried corn), if they could get all the ingredients. Finish off with a refreshing batido (fruit shake), guarapo, and the best coconut ice cream in all of Cuba. Enjoy it!

Rating

The tour is absolutely perfect because it is delicious and exciting at the same time. You learn a lot about Cuban cuisine and its challenges, and get to know Cuba from another side. The tour is a delicious and leisurely walk through the old town. In case of rain, the tour takes place, but it is a bit nicer in the sunshine. There are cobblestones here and there, and the curbs are a bit higher, so accessibility is a bit limited.
