What to Expect
“No Woman, No Cry…”
Bob Marley, the famous reggae singer, lived in a beautiful house on Hope Road from 1975 until his death. Today, this house is the Bob Marley Museum, a tribute to the music legend and his works.
Here you'll get a fascinatingly honest glimpse into his life. The musician who brought reggae, Jamaican culture, and Rastafari to the world. You'll see some of his awards, his furniture, stage costumes, photos, and his instruments. You can see the original recording studio of the former Tuff Gong Records. It is full of the mixers and instruments on which hits like “No Woman, No Cry”, “Could You Be Loved” and “Buffalo Soldier” have been recorded.
But the more frightening side of his life is also visible here because, on the back of the house, you can still see the bullet holes from 1976, from the failed assassination attempt on Marley. But he didn't let that scare him.
Finally, you'll see a short, excellent documentary about Bob and his music. The tour of his home is like listening to the stories of a family member.
The most brilliant thing about the tour? Spoiler alert: At every stop along the tour, the guide sings one of the many wonderful Marley songs, and everyone sings along – pure goosebumps!

Rating
You don't have to be a Bob Marley fan to still fully love the tour. His life and music are still deeply and firmly felt in the house. One of the most beautiful tours in all of Jamaica is impressive and leaves incredible music in yourself.
The tour is independent of the weather. The house extends over 2 floors, so it is still possible with a stroller, but with a wheelchair, it becomes quite tricky to see everything. In the high season (Dec–Apr), better book in advance, because this tour is top-rated and always full.

Organized Tour
With an organized tour, you don't have to worry about anything. You will be picked up, have your guide directly with you, and are safer in the group than alone. Between the attractions, you will be driven and, of course, brought back to your accommodation.
What we absolutely recommend from our own experience.
Self-Organized
You can walk there, drive in your rental car, or take a taxi. However, there are no pedestrian lights, and the traffic is enormous. If you take a taxi, check the price beforehand.
